To me there is nothing else better in the world than eating, drinking and hanging out with good friends! Nestled in hills of Laoshan, we felt like we traveled back to Europe. The grounds are beautiful, the wine is delicious and we were free to just roam.
Entrance is paid for at the gate – which, eeck…I can’t remember how much it was, but it was maybe 50-80 rmb per person. As soon as you drive up the windy road, you are ushered into a dining room area / wine “tasting” area. Unlike wine tasting in the West, here you are offered a 1/2 a glass of 2 different wines to drink, not just taste (included in the entrance fee). After that, we just purchased bottles of wine.
A couple tips, show your driver the business card below. If he doesn’t know where it is, make sure he types it into his GPS. If he doesn’t have a GPS, get a different cab. We got lost, and no one picks up the phone at the winery for directions so it’s not easy to find. It’s hard to get a cab up there, so definitely get Uber or another car service for pick up.
Also, bring an assortment of food and non-alcoholic beverages since only wine is available.

The Huadong winery – is this REALLY China????!@#!@?
Even kids have a great time roaming around the vineyards and feeding the ducks in the pond!
Such an amazing afternoon!
Have fun! We certainly did!
I MISS YOU ALL!!
